Senior Photos in OKC Districts

Are you a high school senior looking for locations to take senior photos? If so, consider taking them in one of the many colorful and lively Oklahoma City Districts! Oklahoma City is home to some great districts that make perfect backdrops for senior photos. From super modern lines to old school Spanish architecture, chances are there’s a place that has just the look you’re going for in your senior pictures. Below are some of the best districts to take pictures in Oklahoma City.

Best places to take senior photos in Oklahoma City Districts

The Paseo District

This artsy district just north of downtown OKC is such a unique and cool place to take senior pictures. With its Spanish revival architecture and colorful stucco buildings, The Paseo is the perfect place to get photos taken that make people ask, “Are you really in Oklahoma?” If you love bright colors and arched doorways, this is the place for you!

Parking is free but limited. But there are plenty of nearby side streets where you can park also.

The Wheeler District

One of the newest places in OKC, the Wheeler District is situated just on the south side of the Oklahoma River at Western Ave. As its name suggests, there is a ferris wheel located in the park by the neighborhood. This park also has several cute spots to take photos. But one of the best places to take photos is on the sidewalks in the neighborhood. With the vibrant colors and unique architecture of the homes, your pictures will be fun and happy. This is also a great option for a second or third location in your photos since it’s right off I-40 and close to Downtown.

There’s free public parking at Wheeler Park and at another lot near the neighborhood and businesses.

The Plaza District

Located NW of Midtown on 16th St, the Plaza is a trendy hot-spot for creativity and local businesses. Known for its “Plaza Walls” which is a rotating mural project on the buildings, and local shops and restaurants that are fun and funky, there are tons of artsy and quirky vibes for your senior pictures. If you are looking to really express some unique aspect of your interests or personality, you may just find it here.

Good to know: If you want to take professional photos in front of any Plaza Walls, the photographer must legally purchase a license to do so.

The Boathouse District

When you think about places to take senior pictures in OKC, the Boathouse District may not be an option you’ve thought of before. But this watersports district actually has some of the most unique modern architecture to be found in the city. Besides being close to the Oklahoma River and Bricktown, the Boathouses have amazing leading lines that give a modern edge to your pictures. Bonus-You can also incorporate some of the downtown OKC skyline in the background of your photos.

This is another great additional location that is close to many others. Parking is easy and free and it’s usually not crowded. Unless there’s an event going on of course. Be sure to check their events calendar before you go.

There are too many great photo spots in the various Districts of OKC to even scratch the surface in this post. Just remember when you are looking for great locations for senior photos in Oklahoma City, you should definitely consider one (or more) of these awesome districts!
