Senior Photos in Downtown OKC

Are you a high school senior looking for locations to take senior photos? If so, consider taking them in Downtown Oklahoma City. Whether you're going for modern city vibes, pretty gardens or more traditional looks, Downtown has it all!

One of the biggest advantages to taking your pictures there is that you can get so much variety in a short walking distance. This is especially great if having a lot of different backgrounds and looks is important to you for senior photos. 

Downtown OKC has a great mix of historic architecture and modern skyscrapers. Posing in front of iconic buildings like the Skirvin and the Civic Center can give your photos a timeless feel. Or contemporary style buildings like the Devon Tower and Enterprise Square provide sleek and stylish backdrops that can add a modern and edgy flair to your photos. There’s literally inspiration around every corner. 

The Myriad Gardens is one of the best photo spots in OKC. This park offers lush greenery, beautiful flowers, and serene water features. It's a perfect spot for a mix of natural and urban photos since it’s located in the heart of downtown. It’s a solid pick for senior photos. 

A great addition to a Myriad Gardens photo shoot is going inside the Crystal Bridge Conservatory. While you do have to pay a $10 per person fee to enter, it’s totally worth it for the gorgeous backdrop! One of my favorite senior sessions was taken there. You can check it out HERE. I especially love that you can schedule a winter photo shoot, but still have flowers and greenery in your photos. Word to the wise, it’s extremely humid  and warm inside. So be prepared for sweat and frizz. 

Yes, it’s been done and done again, but I honestly never get tired of photos on a parking garage rooftop, especially with a city skyline behind it. There are several great options in the downtown area, depending on which buildings you would like in the background. 

Parking. One of the best advantages of taking photos in Downtown OKC is that it’s free! The only thing you may have to pay for is parking. But if your shoot is after 6 pm, street parking is free. 

People. One of the biggest disadvantages to downtown shoots is that you will have to constantly work around other people. And in some areas, other photographers and clients. This doesn’t mean the effort isn’t worth it. But it’s good to remember it may take you a little longer than normal because of “people in your shot” delays or waiting your turn to use a popular spot.

Public restrooms. There is a public restroom on the east side of Myriad Gardens by the ice rink. This is good to know if you need to change clothes. Bonus: There is a great photo opp right there with gardens and then downtown buildings behind you! 

There are honestly too many great photo spots in Downtown OKC to even scratch the surface in this post. Just know if you choose it for your location, It is definitely one of the best places to take your senior photos in the OKC metro area.
