GIRL SENIOR SESSION
Sutton Park Woodsy Fall Senior Session
It’s not every day I get to photograph my own family, so this girl’s senior session was extra special! Dakota is my second cousin, and I’ve seen her grow from a little kid into a sweet, smart, and beautiful young woman. I can’t believe she’s about to graduate high school from Yukon this spring! She loves to sing, dance, do art and clean! (I need to have her come visit me) We had a wonderful time capturing her forest-inspired vision with the woodsy, fall vibes at Sutton Park in Norman.
Dakota wanted a laid-back session with a wooded backdrop, so I was excited when she chose Sutton Park. It was a perfect location. The late afternoon light was that beautiful gold that only fall light can be, and the weather was wonderful. The rain was chasing us, but we managed to stay ahead of it. Along with her mom, grandma and my mom we lugged all the gear, props and outfits as we hiked through the park, set up my crazy pop-up tent for quick outfit changes (that I later got in a fight with...it won) and found the most scenic little nooks and spots to capture some amazing photos. It was a blast and full of good times.
Dakota absolutely nailed her outfit choices. The teal green dress looked STUNNING next to her gorgeous red hair, and that black dress brought all the glam, especially contrasted against the rustic, woodsy backdrop. For a more laid-back vibe, Dakota included some casual outfits, which added the perfect touch of variety to her gallery. Btw, she’s a total natural in front of the camera and it made my job so much fun and easy!
Dakota, I am so proud of you and excited for all the big things coming your way. You’ve worked hard to get here, and this session was just a glimpse of the bright future you have ahead. Sutton Park gave us the perfect fall setting to capture this special season of your life. I hope you enjoy this moment and celebrate everything you’ve accomplished!
Favorite moment: When I took the photo of her in the black dress that is jaw-dropping gorgeous and I knew it, but she looks so grown up. And then I showed it to her mom on the back of my camera and she about died realizing that was her baby girl. (She made some type of gagging noise that I can’t quite describe)😆 Sweet and hilarious. Also we aren’t showing that one to her dad…
see what I mean about the dress and her hair? GORGEOUS.
she suggested this little spot for a pic, and it's one of my favs from the whole session!
😍😍😍
Not showing dad this one...
...or this one 🤫
she brought the mirror along as a prop and the images came out super cool!
