What’s one of the most fun parts about planning your senior photo session? Your outfits of course! Not to be dramatic, but nailing your clothing choices will really take your senior pictures from okay to amazing.

But let’s be real, there are like 1 million and a half choices out there for where to shop for girl senior photo outfits. Can you say “option overwhelm”?

Don’t worry though! I’ve done a little legwork for you and rounded up a short list of eight of the best places to shop for girl senior picture outfits.

Where to shop for the best girl senior picture outfits

Local Boutiques

This is my absolute favorite recommendation for you! Why? Number one, because you can shop local and support a small business. Number two, you’ve probably got several great options right in your hometown. Three, you will find some unique, one of a kind pieces that can really create an eye-catching look in your photos.

Tip: Many boutiques also sell online so don't forget to check that out too.

BuddyLove

This is my top pick for the best outfits for girls in their senior pictures! Why? Because the pieces are so unique and interesting, and that’s exactly what you want in your photos! Things like bright colors and bold patterns, various textures like sequins, tulle and feathers, and bold silhouettes really make a statement in photos. And BuddyLove is loaded with those options!

Tip: if their regular price is a little steep for your budget, check their sales category. Their markdowns are pretty generous.

Lulus

This is another really great option for your senior session outfits. One thing I really like on their site is how easy it is to search their dresses narrowed down by occasion, style, trend, or color. And their separates and accessories are super cute and won’t break the bank.

Hello Molly

So I just discovered this retailer while I was researching this post! They have a huge selection of feminine and fun pieces. Their search options are also really great and help you narrow down exactly what you’re looking for. I found great pieces in every category. Beige sequin flare pants for your senior photos…yes please!

Pretty Little Thing

I mean, with a name like that, how could you not find great outfits? 😆 This is another solid option worth checking out when you’re shopping. While I didn’t find quite as many pieces to be excited about as the above stores, they’re definitely worth a browse. Everything is super categorized which makes it easy to shop there.

Altar'd State

I really like this store and it definitely leans toward boho country vibes. But not completely, if that makes any sense. 🙃I’m really loving their matching two-piece sets. And they have a lot of great tops with interesting details.

Windsor

I especially LOVE their homecoming dress selection here! So many of them would be amazing in your senior photos. They’ve also got a nice selection of rompers.

Pro tip: Rompers are a great alternative to short dresses in photos because you get the look of a dress but can move around in them without worrying about flashing anyone! 🫣

Dry Goods

Overall this store is a little more casual than some of the others (which may be perfect for your taste) but it made the cut for me because of their dresses and rompers selection. Under their Dresses category they have a section called “For the Bride”. While each item is shown in white (obvi) there are some really cute options and they have other color options if white isn't your preference.

Honorable Mentions

Target, Old Navy, American Eagle.

Ok, so you may not find so many “one-of-a-kind statement pieces” at these stores, but that doesn’t mean they aren’t good places to shop for senior picture outfits.

Target, of course, will always come through for you with cute and affordable clothes and accessories. Old Navy and American Eagle are both great spots to pick up the standard pieces you need like jeans, camis and basic tees. And if you’re a jeans and t-shirt kind of girl, you may find exactly what you want there.

Final Thoughts

Don’t be afraid to choose pieces that are a little bolder than what you wear everyday. I promise those fun textures and details will look ah-mazing in your photos! But also don’t push yourself so far out of your comfort zone that you feel like you’re in costume and not really you. That’s no bueno. 👎

If you’re struggling with what style of clothes to get, let the vision you have for your senior photos guide your choice. Think about: What are your photo locations? What vibe and aesthetic do you want your photos to have? Then make sure the style of clothing you choose coordinates with that.

For example, if you want a boho country vibe and your photos are in an open field, you wouldn’t wear a modern bodycon dress in a bright color with a black leather jacket and moto boots. That would clash! Instead you would choose flowy textures and colors that complement the natural tones around you.

✨The most important thing to remember when planning and shopping for outfits for your senior pictures is to find clothes that make you feel comfortable and confident. ✨

Have fun with the process and enjoy all the little details of your senior photo experience!
