How to Choose the Perfect Branding Session Location in OKC

Best OKC Branding Photo Session Locations

Picking your branding session location is kinda like ordering at Starbucks—so. many. choices. Do you go classic and safe? Or bold and extra whip? The spot you choose for your branding photos sets the tone for your entire session, so let’s find the one that feels just right for you and your brand.

Important fact- your background is more than just… background. It’s another important “layer” in your brand images. It tells your story, supports your brand vibe, and helps potential clients feel connected to you before they ever send that “let’s work together” email.

Why Location Matters

Think about it—your photos aren’t just for your Instagram feed. They’re going on your website, email signature, lead magnets, launch graphics, maybe even that book you’re planning to write one day (no pressure 😉).

Your location adds instant depth and personality.

  • Is your brand polished + professional? A sleek downtown setting might be your BFF.

  • Is it fun + creative? Colorful murals or a trendy coffee shop will do the trick.

  • Is it more  approachable + cozy? A park or even your own home office says “I’m real and relatable.”

In short: your location helps tell your brand story without saying a single word.

Things to Consider Before Choosing

Before we start location scouting, ask yourself:

✨ What’s my brand personality?
Are you buttoned-up and chic, or laid-back and playful? (Both are great—it just changes the backdrop.)

✨ Do I need variety?
Some clients want a neutral studio vibe, while others love multiple looks in one session. Pro tip: go for variety! Maximize the time you're investing to get the most content possible. Your future self will thank you.

✨ Where would my clients expect to see me?
If you’re a life coach who loves meeting clients at a coffee shop, we’ll lean into that. If you’re a product-based biz owner, your workshop or home studio may be perfect.

Top OKC Branding Session Location Ideas

Here’s what you've been waiting for! OKC is packed with amazing backdrops for personal branding sessions. Here's a few of my faves:

Downtown OKC: For a polished, modern, business-forward look. Perfect for service-based entrepreneurs who want a professional edge.

Local Coffee Shops (Elemental, Stitch, Coffee Slingers, etc.): These spots are gold for lifestyle branding. Grab your laptop and a latte for some casual “working” shots.

Scissortail Park: Gorgeous green spaces, open light, and plenty of room for movement. Great if your brand is approachable, wellness-focused, or community-driven.

Arts District / Midtown Wall Murals: Bright, colorful murals bring fun, creative energy. Amazing for artists, designers, or anyone who loves a bold pop of color.

OKC Studios: Oklahoma City has tons of nice photo studio options that are perfect for personal branding photos! From bright white to dark, modern to industrial, we can find a studio that matches your brand. Some of my personal favorites are:

Airbnb/VRBO Rentals: This is a good option when your actual home or office space isn’t ideal. OKC has tons of great options. Chances are you can find a space to rent that nails your exact brand look.

Your Own Workspace or Home Office: Nothing says “authentic” like the actual space where your magic happens. And if it makes sense for your brand to include kids or pets, this is an ideal choice. Bonus—it’s instantly recognizable to your audience.

A friend’s gorgeous home: Do you have a friend with a beautiful home or property that would match your brand look? Ask if you can use their space. That’s what friends are for, right? 😉

So many other great options: I've only scratched the surface of the many perfect locations around OKC for brand photos. There is so much variety around our great city! I'm always scouting for unique locations that I'll have in mind when we plan your session.

Cheryl’s Pro Tips for Choosing a Location

1. Mix it up. I often recommend one “professional” location and one “personality” location so you get a variety of looks. Pro tip: you may be able to achieve this at one physical location. Either rent a space with a variety of looks, or choose two spots that are near each other like downtown OKC and a coffee shop.

2. Think about light + peak times. When choosing an indoor location, ask yourself: Are there plenty of large windows/natural light throughout the space? Is there more than just one corner that is on-brand? For public outdoor locations, think about if we’ll be dealing with a lot of other people at the same spot. If so, are there some off times we could find to shoot there? Or should we look for another location?

3. Don’t overthink it. Don’t stress over this because you don’t have to figure it out alone! As we plan,  I’ll help guide you to the perfect spot that feels like you and tells your brand story.

Wrap-Up

At the end of the day, your branding session location should feel like your brand in photo form. Whether that’s sipping a latte in Midtown, strutting in heels downtown, or cozying up in your office with your dog curled at your feet, the right backdrop makes your photos look natural, confident, and oh-so-you.
