That’s a Wrap, 2023!
At the risk of sounding completely cliche, where did the time go?! It’s hard to believe we are only a few weeks away from 2024!
So last year I wrote a blog post in December with highlights from the year in Cheryl Jackson Photography. I am now officially turning that into a year-end series!
It’s so fun for me to look back and remember things that happened this year and appreciate all the amazing clients and photo sessions I was privileged to shoot.
And I really want to share that with you too!
CHERYL JACKSON PHOTOGRAPHY | OKLAHOMA CITY SENIOR PHOTOGRAPHER
This was the first year I completely pivoted my photography business into specializing in two niches–Senior Sessions and Personal Branding Sessions.
I will still take on the occasional family or couples session, but my marketing and business structure are all centered around my two specialties.
And just like before, this year did not disappoint with having THE BEST clients with some super gorgeous sessions!

Branding Sessions
On the branding side of things, I shot two small business photo sessions--an upscale beauty salon in my local town of Tuttle, Oklahoma and a business equipment company in Winfield, Kansas. Two very different types of businesses to say the least!
But by digging into each one’s mission and values I was able to capture some unique images that could tell the story of their business.
This is so valuable in marketing, especially on social media where the demand for imagery is non-stop.
I'm looking forward to the next branding sessions I can take on in 2024!
Other Sessions
I also did a couple of family sessions over the year including an extended family session with multiple generations and the most adorable little girls!
One of my favorite captures of the year is the first photo below of the five girls playing in the field.
Senior Sessions
The biggest highlight of my year had to be the variety of senior sessions and clients I was privileged to have!
First of all I'm super excited to say I did two boy senior sessions which I thoroughly enjoyed!
Both of them were super chill guys who did so great having me take their pictures. Also, they both get 5 stars from me because they wore suits for some of their photos. So classy, I love it!
Then there were my gorgeous senior girls! So many fun, unique and jaw-dropping images.
We went from the streets of midtown to VW vans, to a tropical world, to standing in Lake Hefner, and everywhere in between.
I got to take group cap & gown photos for some of my 2023 graduates and reconnect with them one more time.
I had such a blast with all of my seniors and was thrilled to provide them with memorable senior pictures where they looked and felt beautiful!

Oh and one more really cool thing!
I had the privilege of two of my senior images being selected and published in two different issues of Lensational Magazine this year!
There’s no way I could have such a proud moment as a photographer without my amazing senior clients trusting me to take their photos!

So now I’m shouting out a huge “Thank you!” to all my clients this year.
I absolutely LOVE being a portrait photographer and I cannot say how much I appreciate your support that allows me to do it for my job! You guys are the best of the best!
